Trying to catch up

I'm so behind these days. I'm behind on planning the wedding, behind on Judah's birthday party planning and behind at work. They keep sending me more audits to complete and last week my computer crashed and destroyed some of my files. That delayed an already slow work week. I'm trying to hustle and get a lot done this week but I have reports to print and a meeting on Wednesday. The good thing about the meeting on Wednesday is an executive will be there and I can bring up the fact that I need a job and see what he says.

As far as the wedding... Her budget has increased because everybody in her wedding is poor and she had to pay for all their clothes/shoes. I've decided against all the flavored marshmallow's and I'm just doing the chocolate varities. I got these jumbo marshmallows because they'll be cool. What do you think, should they all be these huge marshmallow's or should I get regular sized too?

For Judah's birthday party the menu is a fruit tray, veggie tray, chips, and sandwiches. I have these pretty dinosaur toothpicks that I'll insert in each sandwich serving. You know those huge cold cut subs at the grocery store? Well we'll have different varities like that, but what other kinds of sandwiches and chip varities would be good to feed a ton of people? The party is on a Sunday afternoon for 2-3 hours if that makes any difference.

The picture for the post below

A daddy face

On Sunday somebody asked us who Judah acted like. MrC and I haven't been able to figure out whose traits Judah seems to have more of, but if this picture from Monday is any indication, Judah will be a mini MrC. All I see in this picture is MrC's body language and a thought bubble that reads "these fools got me up here with this dirty bear. They better be glad I can't walk, cuz I'd leave." I'm going to start praying for Judah's wife now, she's going to need it.

10 1/2 months

Judah is 10 1/2 months now. I didn't even bother writing a 1o month post because it would've been just like the 9 month post. It seemed like he was doing the exact same stuff. I guess he was saving it all for this past week because he started doing all sorts of stuff over the past week. He slept through the night 3 times last week :) He also woke up at 5 a.m. babbling and refusing to fall back asleep many times last week :( He hasn't said any words yet but he's constantly "talking." We were having a conversation in the store the other day and this woman came over and was asking if I always talked to him because it sounded like we were having a real conversation. He's also started mimicking people. My sister kept saying to Judah he was going to get "knocked out" and he was trying his darndest to repeat it. Yesterday MrC sneezed and after Judah finished laughing, he started fake sneezing every time MrC sneezed. I also think he's teething for real now. He has gnawed on my chin, nose, bottom lip, eyebrow and collar bone. Sometimes it's quite painful, but also very funny. Judah has turned into quite the adventurer as well. He will roam from room to room trying to see what he can get into. His favorite places are the fridge and my shower. He's learned how to open the kitchen cabinets and my shower door which means halfway through my shower half my attention is spent trying to keep him from actually climbing in with me. He completely changed his crawling style as well. He's always done the army crawl on his forearms and stayed low, but now he's on his hands and knees trying to escape when he knocks something over. He also started to scale the walls so he can "walk" wherever he needs to go. Yesterday he went: fireplace- wall- tv stand-broken tv on the floor-play pen- chair- gate blocking the fish tank-chair and then he ran out of things to hold onto so he got down. He even stood alone for a few seconds the other day. It's been a busy week for Judah! I've been adding a lot more seasoning to his food lately. He's had rice and peas with curry, pasta with tomato sauce, and he loves cinnamon in his food. This little baby is so delightful (well 2 weeks ago he had a week where he was extremely unpleasant) and I want another one.

We're going to get pictures taken today, so I'll share them when we get them!

God is for me

This morning I was up at 5 with Judah and my mind was racing. I could not calm down so I was talking to God. I've been quite distant from Him these past few weeks. I wasn't really mad at him, but I was kind of disappointed with how I felt He's been treating me lately. I've been feeling kind of neglected. I know he's kept me alive and safe and healthy and all that, but there were some things I'd been talking to Him about and it felt like he didn't care about me. When we got to church this morning we checked Judah into the nursery and made our way into the sanctuary. I was sitting there not really present, but going through the motions. One of my friends go up to sing and she sang "You are for me" by Kari Jobe:

"I know that You are for me.
I know that You are for me.
I know that You will never,
forsake me in my weaknesses
I know that You have come now,
even if to write upon my heart.
To remind me who You are.
So patient, So gracious,
So merciful and true…
So wonderful in all You do.
You know me. You see me.
You know my every move.
You love for me to sing to You"

After she sang the praise team came up and each of them sang whatever God put on their heart and the band just followed. Every single song had me in tears. I felt God reassuring me of His love and talking to me about what's been going on. We ended up having worship for over an hour. The sermon was also on point and by the time I left church I was reassured that I'm Gods most favorite daughter. I'm so grateful that God is patient with me even when I'm a brat and I definitely don't deserve it.
